NOTEBOOK: Campbell provides injury updates on St. Brown, Rakestraw

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a bounce-back performance Sunday despite the team's 20-16 loss to the Buccaneers. The All-Pro receiver caught 11 passes for 119 yards. That coming after catching just three passes for 13 yards in the win last week over the Rams.

It was even more impressive for St. Brown considering he was dealing with an injury that had trainers come out to attend to him on the field twice.

"No, he's alright. I don't think it's anything long-term, so that's good news," Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after the game when asked about St. Brown.

It was the 16th career 100-yard receiving game for St. Brown, which ties Terry Barr for the fourth most 100-yard receiving games in franchise history.

The Lions had a couple other injury issues pop up during the game. Linebacker Alex Anzalone left the game to be evaluated for a concussion and was eventually downgraded to out. He had four tackles before he left the game.

Rookie cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. was a curious add to the inactive list 90 minutes before the game Sunday after not being listed on the injury report all week. It turns out he injured himself in pregame warmups.

"It happened in pregame," Campbell said. "It was just a little hamstring, I don't know. That happened literally four minutes before we had to turn in the inactives, so we were up against the clock."

MISSING OPPORTUNITIES

This will be a tough loss to swallow Monday when the Lions go over the film and watch how they were able to move up and down the field with the Bucs missing a number of key players on defense and but not taking advantage in the red zone (1-for-7).

The Bucs didn't have All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr. for this game and lost Pro Bowl nose tackle Vita Vea pretty early in the contest.

"You always – you feel, 'Hey, their starters are out in this area.' And (Buccaneers S Antoine) Winfield's (Jr.) a hell of a player, believe me," Campbell said. "For him to not be in there – because he's a headache.

"But how many guys have we had out the last two years and the backups step in and just kick [butt]? Of course we'd like to do more, but the bottom line – you just have to win. You have to find a way to win. It doesn't matter if you have all your starters, it doesn't matter if you have all your backups. You have to find a way to win."

100 FOR GIBBS

Second-year running back Jahmyr Gibbs had 13 rushes for 84 yards (6.5 avg.) and had seven receptions for 22 yards (3.1 avg.), totaling 106 scrimmage yards on the afternoon. In 17 career games, Gibbs has produced at least 100 scrimmage yards six times and 50 scrimmage yards 15 times.
