TWENTYMAN: 10 prospects who could interest Lions on Day 3

The Detroit Lions completed a busy Friday night of the NFL Draft by moving up twice to select Georgia guard Tate Ratledge in the second round and Arkansas wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa in the third round. That was after selecting Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams with their first-round pick Thursday night.

Heading into Saturday's final day of the draft, the Lions have five picks, two in the sixth round (182 & 196) and three in the seventh round (228, 230, 244).

Here's a look at 10 prospects who could interest the Lions on Day 3 of the draft:

1. EDGE Bradyn Swinson, LSU

Swinson has a nice tool bag of pass-rush moves to go along with good size (6-4, 255). He led LSU with 13 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks this past season.

2. RB Cam Skattebo, Arizona State

Skattebo is the first FBS player since Christian McCaffrey in 2015 to have at least 1,500 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in a single season. He's a tough runner with terrific balance and could be an impact player immediately on special teams.

3. LB Danny Stutsman, Oklahoma

Stutsman is an inside linebacker with size, instincts and speed. He was a finalist for the Butkus Award (top linebacker) after recording at least 100 tackles in three-straight seasons for the Sooners.

4. TE Gunnar Helm, Texas

Helm broke Texas' single-season records for catches and receiving yards by a tight end in 2024. He's got great size and body control with soft hands. He could compete for the No. 3 tight end role and eventually maybe tight end No. 2.

5. EDGE Jack Sawyer, Ohio State

Sawyer is a big, strong, physical edge rusher who was a two-year starter and one of the key players in the Buckeyes' run to the National Championship. He was the Cotton Bowl Defensive MVP after recording a game-clinching 83-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, causing and recovering a fumble on a sack of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Sawyer recorded 59 tackles, nine sacks and six pass breakups in 2024.

6. S Billy Bowman Jr., Oklahoma

Bowman has a really good mix of athletic traits and production, which teams really look at with Day 3 picks. He notched 199 tackles, 11 interceptions and 14 passes defended in 47 games over the last four seasons.

7. EDGE Barryn Sorrell, Texas

Sorell has good size (6-3, 256), speed (4.68) and skillset. He started all 16 games for the Longhorns with 44 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks last season.

8. CB Quincy Riley, Louisville

Riley showed good ball production for the Cardinals the last two seasons, recording 24 pass breakups and five interceptions. He needs to play with a little more physicality in the run game but that can be coached up.

9. DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, Georgia

He's kind of a tweener at 6-foot-5, 276 pounds but has good speed and athletic traits with some versatility to play inside and outside. He has all the tools to be a productive player in this league with more coaching.

10. QB Quinn Ewers, Texas

Jared Goff is the quarterback in Detroit for the foreseeable future but there's nothing wrong with bringing in some young competition for the backup job with Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen. Ewers tied for sixth in the FBS with 31 passing touchdowns last season, leading Texas to the College Playoff Semifinals.
