Expert analysis: "A three-year starting right guard with a relatively safe floor, Ratledge plays with a dirt-dog mentality. His pad level is too high, but he mauls his way into early advantages in the run game. He has strong hands and uses them effectively to control and sustain his block." — Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

"In pass protection, he has the smarts and anchor to maintain the integrity of the pocket, although he needs to improve his punch timing to stay centered versus pass-rush quickness. Overall, Ratledge is a self-described 'dirtbag' with the contact power, competitive edge and functional movement skills to match up against NFL defensive linemen." — Dane Brugler, The Athletic

Twentyman's take: There might not be a more perfect player in the entire draft to land in Detroit than Ratledge. He's a Dan Campbell kind of player through and through. Ratledge is a self-described 'dirtbag' as a player and that certainly fits what the Lions are all about upfront along their offensive line. He was a four-year starter for the Bulldogs with 37 starts at right guard. He plays a physical brand of football at 6-foot-7, 308 pounds but with good movement skills for his size.

Bambini's take: Having accrued more than 35 starts while at Georgia, Ratledge's tall, thick frame paired with large hands allows him to sustain the blocks and drive defenders to create running lanes. Ratledge is highly respected in the locker room on an intangibles level and is very disciplined on the field — he was called for just three penalties over the past two seasons. He should immediately step in to compete for one of the two guard spots.

What he had to say: "To be a good offensive lineman, you have to have a little bit of that (dirtbag) in you. But know how to control it at the same time. For someone to say that about me, I appreciate it because I feel like that's how I play." — Ratledge on his mentality at the 2025 NFL Combine
