Resume:

  • 2022 All-SEC Second Team (Missouri)
  • 2024 Preseason All-SEC Third Team selection (Georgia)
  • 2025 Senior Bowl game participant

Expert analysis: "Lovett is as smooth as churned butter with an effortless glide and easy transitions inside his route. He's a slender slot who can slip by press but has trouble dealing with physical coverage at times. A heavy percentage of his targets came within a few yards of the line of scrimmage, but he's capable of expanding his sphere of influence as a pass catcher. — Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

"With synchronized shake in his routes, Lovett created quick windows underneath for catch-and-go plays. Overall, Lovett presents a small-throwing target and likely will be limited to the slot, but he has a fluid stride with solid ball skills to make plays — if given the chance. His speed can be used on special teams, as well. - Dane Brugler, The Athletic

Twentyman's take: The Georgia speedster has a tough road to make the roster with how deep Detroit's wide receiver room is, but Lovett's best chance to prove he can be a contributor might be on special teams. That's something GM Brad Holmes specifically mentioned after the selection. Lovett was mainly a slot player and he'll have one of the best in the business to learn from in Detroit in Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Bambini's take: Lovett is the third Lions pick out of Georgia in the 2025 Draft. He joins third-round selection Isaac TeSlaa (Arkansas) as wide receivers drafted by Detroit this year. His comfortability in the slot, speed and experience as a gunner should allow him to compete for a spot as a core special-teamer. He's not an explosive receiver, but he excels in short, quick routes for easy yardage.

What he had to say: "Mainly that I just can play bigger than what I am even though I'm 5'10", a smaller guy. You can still put me on the outside, put me on a big box fade and I just play bigger that what I am." — Lovett on what he wanted to prove to teams at the NFL Combine
