10 players who impressed at 2025 NFL Scouting Combine

Over 300 players took part in the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this past week. The medical checks are in, the measurements are recorded and the interviews are in the books. NFL talent evaluators now have another piece of the puzzle in their overall evaluation leading up to the NFL Draft in Green Bay next month.

The game film is still the ultimate evaluator of these prospects, but some players really helped themselves down in Indy, while others forced teams to go back to the tape to see why the measurables maybe didn't add up.

Here's a look at 10 players who really impressed at the Combine:

1. S Nick Emmanwori, South Carolina

A creative NFL defensive coordinator is going to have a lot of fun with Emmanwori as a chess piece in his defense. Emmanwori measured in at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds and had a ridiculous 43-inch vertical and 11-foot-6-inch broad jump. Then, he blazed the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds. Safety, big nickel, linebacker. His traits will allow him to play a lot of different roles in the NFL.

2. LB Jihaad Campbell, Alabama

Lions general manager Brad Holmes does love his Alabama prospects and Campbell took advantage of the Combine, both in testing an on-field drills. He ran 4.52 seconds in the 40-yard dash at 235 pounds and his 10-foot-7-inch broad jump continued to show off his explosive traits. He was pretty smooth in testing and looks to be a player who can play the SAM, WILL, MIKE and even Edge in certain packages. He's the total package.

3. Edge James Pearce Jr., Tennessee

Pearce impressed with a 4.47-second mark in the 40 at 245 pounds. That first-step burst and quick feet really showed off in drills. He's got shorter arms (32 3/4 inches) than teams would ideally like of the edge and the explosion drills were just average. Speed, quickness and bend off the edge are his strength and he showed those off in Indianapolis.

4. CB Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky

The West Bloomfield native was explosive in testing with a 39.5-inch vertical, 10-foot-9-inch broad and was the fastest cornerback in Indy with a 4.28 second 40-yard dash and terrific 1.5-second 10-yard split. Teams are going to love his ball production and traits package. Only knock is he's a little slender at 183 pounds. Can he hold up to the physicality at this level? Athletically, however, he fits right in.

5. OL Armand Membou, Missouri

I thought Membou had a terrific couple days in Indy. His height (6-4) and arm length (33 1/2 inches) are just average for NFL tackles, but he's a physical presence on tape and his 4.91-second mark in the 40 with a 1.74-second 10-yard split was impressive at 332 pounds. A 34-inch vertical and 9-foot-7-inch broad jump also speak to his explosiveness. I think he's a player with true position versatility upfront because of his play style and physical traits.

6. WR Matthew Golden, Texas

Golden's teammate, Isaiah Bond, was expected to challenge Xavier Worthy's 40-yard dash record. Instead, it was Golden who led all receivers with an impressive 4.29 seconds in the 40 with a 1.49-second split. He averaged 17.0 yards per reception for the Longhorns last season with nine touchdowns and has the traits to play inside or outside at this level.

7. Edge Landon Jackson, Arkansas

A Top 50 prospect coming into the Combine just might have worked his way into the first round after Indianapolis. He combined for 13 sacks and 24 tackles for loss the last two seasons at Arkansas and showed terrific explosive traits in Indianapolis. He measured in at 6-foot-6, 264 pounds with a 40.5-inch vertical, 10-foot-9-inch broad jump, adding a 4.68-second 40-yard and a 1.64-second 10-yard split.

8. RB Bhayshul Tuten, Virginia Tech

The running back class as a whole was terrific in Indy and this is the deepest running back class to come in some time. Tuten rushed for 1,159 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Hokies last year and showed off explosive traits at the Combine that fit today's NFL game. He recorded a 40-yard dash of 4.32 seconds (led all RB's), 40.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-10-inch broad jump. He just might have put himself squarely into the Day 2 conversation in the draft.

9. DB Jahdae Barron, Texas

Barron won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's best defensive back this past season after recording five interceptions. He went sub-4.4 in the 40-yard dash (4.39) and was really impressive in drills. He's drawn comparisons to Detroit's Brian Branch coming out of college and could be a versatile piece at the NFL level.

10. Edge Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

Stewart was touted as one of the most athletic prospects at the position and he lived up to the hype with an impressive time of 4.59 seconds in the 40 at 6-foot-5 and 267 pounds. He hit 40 inches in the vertical jump and 10-foot-11-inches in the broad jump. His production doesn't match his physical traits and that's something NFL talent evaluators will try to get to the bottom of leading into the draft.
