Lions Legends: Joe Schmidt
This installment of Lions Legends celebrates the career of former linebacker & head coach, Joe Schmidt. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1973, Schmidt played his entire 13-season career (1953-65) for the Lions earning 10 consecutive Pro Bowl honors (1955-64). The linebacker played 155 games totaling 24 interceptions and 17 fumble recoveries with three defensive touchdowns. He went on to become head coach of the Lions from 1967-1972.
