Scott Sika is entering his 12th NFL season working in player personnel and his ninth season with the Lions as an Area Scout. He came to Detroit in 2016 as an Area Scout after spending three seasons (2013-15) with the Atlanta Falcons.
Sika was promoted to an Area Scout in 2015 for the Falcons after spending his first two seasons with Atlanta as a scouting assistant. In his role, he handled various logistical aspects of the scouting department for college all-star games, the NFL Combine, and college visits. In addition, Sika was responsible for incoming and outgoing players regarding travel accommodations and scheduling, as well as producing tapes for draft-eligible collegiate prospects and NFL players. He entered the NFL ranks as a training camp intern in 2012 for the Falcons.
Before joining the Falcons, Sika interned for two seasons in the Ohio State Athletic Department. A native of Strongsville, Ohio, Sika played offensive line for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team from 2006-10 where he was a part of five Big Ten Conference titles. He earned a bachelor's degree in sport and leisure and a master's degree in sports management from Ohio State. He and his wife, Ashley, have one daughter, Skylar and they reside in Georgia.
