Jordan Martin enters his fourth season as an Area Scout for the Detroit Lions. He was originally elevated to that role in 2021. Martin originally joined the Lions organization in 2019 as a scouting assistant. In his current role, Martin leads the club's scouting efforts as it pertains to the Northeast region of the country.
Prior to Detroit, Martin spent the 2018-19 season at Oklahoma State as a recruiting analyst. He was responsible for the daily evaluation of high school and junior college talent with an emphasis on scheme fit and overall player abilities. During his time at Oklahoma State, he also developed and maintained relationships with high school coaches and recruits and facilitated campus tours and official visits.
Martin's previous career stops include working as a defensive intern at the University of Houston (2017-18) and as the wide receivers coach at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. (2016-17). In his previous roles, he assisted the defensive coaches and outside linebackers at Houston and oversaw the development of 12 receivers at Washington.
Martin earned his bachelor's degree from Temple University. His brother, Denzel, is the outside linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A St. Louis native, Martin is married to his wife, Shaterra and together they have two daughters, Zaria and Zuri.
