Lions vs. Eagles: Roster Connections

Lions WR Danny Amendola (11) spent the entire 2009 offseason and preseason with the Eagles. Amendola has a framed Eagles jersey in his house he uses as a reminder of how far he has come in the NFL.

Lions Assistant Offensive Line Coach Hank Fraley (63) played the first six seasons of his career with the Eagles from 2000-05.

Eagles QB Josh McCown (12) played for the Lions in 2006, but only appeared in two games for the team. McCown never threw a pass for the Lions, but he did play wide receiver and caught two passes for 15 yards (7.5 avg.).

Eagles DT Akeem Spence (97) spent the 2017 season with the Lions. Spence totaled 39 total tackles, 3.0 sacks, and one forced fumble with the team.

Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz (left) served as the Detroit Lions head coach from 2009-13. In 2011, Schwartz guided the Lions to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth. Eagles Defensive Special Assistant Matt Burke (right) served under Schwartz during his five years in Detroit as the linebackers coach.

Lions CB Amani Oruwariye (left) and Eagles WR Nelson Agholor (right) are both from Tampa, Fla.

Eagles CB Avonte Maddox (29) is from Detroit, Mich. and attended Martin Luther King High School.

Eagles DE Brandon Graham (55) is from Detroit, Mich. and played football at both Crockett Vocational Technical High School and University of Michigan. Graham has given back to the Detroit community and hosted the Team Graham Football Camp in Downtown Detroit for the fifth consecutive year in 2019.

Lions DT Mike Daniels (96) grew up in Stratford, N.J. just 15 miles from Philadelphia, Pa.

Lions Defensive Coordinator Paul Pasqualoni (left) coached Eagles Offensive Line Coach Jeff Stoutland (right) at Southern Connecticut State in 1981. Stoutland also served as a graduate assistant at Syracuse in 1987 when Pasqualoni was the linebackers coach.

Lions LB Christian Jones (7) and Eagles LB Nigel Bradham (13) were teammates at Florida State from 2010-11. In 2011, Bradham finished with the most total tackles (86) on the team and Jones was third (56). Jones also played with Eagles CB Ronald Darby (top) and DT Tim Jernigan (bottom) from 2012- 13 with the Seminoles. The two were part of a defense that was first in the country (12.1 points per game allowed) and fourth in turnovers per game (2.5).

Lions OL Beau Benzschawel (66), Eagles RB Corey Clement (6) and LB T.J. Edwards (53) played together at Wisconsin from 2014-16. In 2016, Clement had his best rushing season with 1,375 yards when Benzschawel started all 14 games and earned Second-team All-Big Ten honors.

Lions LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin (21) and Eagles DE Derek Barnett (9) played together at Tennessee from 2014-16. In 2015, the two combined for 16.0 sacks, 26.5 tackles for loss, and 174 total tackles.

Lions DB Quandre Diggs (6) and Eagles DT Hassan Ridgeway (98) were teammates at Texas from 2012-14. Lions Defensive Line coach Bo Davis (bottom) held the same position from 2012-13 and coached Ridgeway.

Lions S Tavon Wilson (left) and Eagles DT Akeem Spence (right) spent 2008-11 at Illinois on the defensive side of the ball. In 2011, Wilson and Spence combined for 150 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks.

Lions OL Oday Aboushi (78) and Eagles G Brandon Brooks (79) played together in 2015 with the Houston Texans.

Lions TE Jesse James (81) and Eagles LB L.J. Fort (54) spent 2015- 18 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lions LB Christian Jones (52), Eagles RB Jordan Howard (24) and WR Alshon Jeffrey (17) were teammates in Chicago during the 2016 season.

Lions CB Rashaan Melvin (38), T Rick Wagner (71) and Eagles DT Tim Jernigan (99) were all members of the Baltimore Ravens in 2014.
