Lions vs. Cardinals: Roster Connections

Lions OL Oday Aboushi played in eight games for the Cardinals in 2018.

Lions TE Logan Thomas played for the Arizona Cardinals during the 2014 season. Thomas threw an 81-yard touchdown on his first career completion (third attempt) at Denver in Week 5. He became the first NFL quarterback to have his first career completion be for 80-plus yards since Pittsburgh Steelers QB Neil O'Donnell's did so on an 89-yard pass against the San Diego Chargers on Sept. 1, 1991.

Cardinals CB Chris Jones spent the 2018 offseason with the Detroit Lions.

Lions S Tavon Wilson, WR Danny Amendola, CB Justin Coleman, DE Trey Flowers, CB Rashaan Melvin and Cardinals OLB Chandler Jones were all members of the New England Patriots in 2015. Lions Head Coach Matt Patricia was the defensive coordinator in New England when he coached Jones from 2012-15, helping him get selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2015.

Cardinals DB Charles Washington was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Lions in 2016 before being released at the end of the 2019 preseason. Washington appeared in 29 games for the Lions during the 2017-18 seasons.

Lions DE Romeo Okwara and Cardinals OL D.J. Humphries both hail from Charlotte, NC. When they were both seniors in high school in 2011 Humphries' Mallard Creek High School defeated Okwara's Ardrey Kell High School 51-9 in the North Carolina Class 4AA District final.

Lions WR Danny Amendola and Cardinals WR Michael Crabtree were teammates at Texas Tech during the 2007 season. Both players recorded over 100 receptions and 1,000 yards for the Red Raiders as they went on to go 9-4. The duo is the only pair of receivers to record at least 100 catches in the same season.

Lions C/G Graham Glasgow and Cardinals OL Mason Cole manned the offensive line at Michigan during the 2014-15 seasons.

Lions TE Jesse James and Cardinals OL Marcus Gilbert played in Pittsburgh together from 2015-18.

Lions DT A'Shawn Robinson, DE Da'Shawn Hand and Cardinals S Deionte Thompson were members of the 2015 Alabama team that won the National Championship.

On Dec. 14, 2013 Lions WR Chris Lacy and Desoto (TX) High School played one of the most memorable Texas high school football games against Cardinals QB Kyler Murray and Allen High School. In the Texas High School 51 Division I semifinal Desoto became the first team that season to lead Allen at halftime. Murray led a fervent comeback and Allen won the game 42-35 over Desoto.

Lions S Will Harris and Cardinals DE Zach Allen were teammates at Boston College from 2015-18. During the 2016-17 seasons, the Golden Eagles' defensive line coach was current Lions Defensive Coordinator Paul Pasqualoni.

Lions T Rick Wagner and Cardinals OL A.Q. Shipley spent the 2013 season as members of the Baltimore Ravens offensive line group.

Lions K Matt Prater and Cardinals LS Aaron Brewer were part of the special teams unit in Denver from 2012-14. Brewer was the long snapper for Prater's NFL-record 64-yard field goal against Tennessee on Dec. 8, 2013. Prater kicked under current Cardinals Special Teams Coordinator Jeff Rodgers from 2011-14 when he held that same position in Denver.

During his 16 years in Baltimore, Cardinals LB Terrell Suggs was teammates with Lions CB Rashaan Melvin (2014-15), LS Don Muhlbach (2004), T Rick Wagner (2013-16), and G Kenny Wiggins (2011).

Lions DB Quandre Diggs and Cardinals ILB Jordan Hicks were teammates at Texas from 2011-14. Both Diggs and Hicks started all 13 games as seniors in 2013 when Diggs was tied for second on the team in interceptions (3) and Hicks led the defense in total tackles (116).

Lions LB Devon Kennard and Cardinals OL Justin Pugh spent 2014-17 together on the New York Giants. Pugh also spent time with Lions DE Romeo Okwara, and DT Damon Harrison Sr. during the 2016-17 seasons in New York.
