Lions at Bears: Roster Connections

Lions LB Christian Jones spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bears from 2014-17. During his time in Chicago, Jones appeared in 63 games (31 starts) and totaled 236 tackles (160 solo) with 4.0 sacks.

Lions Defensive Coordinator Paul Pasqualoni served as the defensive line coach for the Bears in 2014.

Lions Offensive Assistant Coach Derius Swinton served as the Bears' Assistant Special Teams Coach in 2015 and 2017.

Bears FB Michael Burton was drafted by the Lions in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft and played there through 2016, appearing in 32 games with seven starts.

Bears Wide Receivers Coach Mike Furrey played wide receiver for the Lions from 2006-08. Furrey started 26 of his 41 games played in Detroit and ranked second in the NFL with 98 receptions in 2006 while recording 1,086 yards and six touchdowns that season.

Bears Assistant Special Teams Coach Brock Olivo was a member of the Lions from 1998-2002, playing running back and on special teams. He led the special teams unit in tackles twice during his time in Detroit.

Bears Linebackers Coach Glenn Pires served as a linebackers coach with the Lions from 2001-02.

Lions C/G Graham Glasgow grew up in Aurora, Ill., which is just 49 miles from Soldier Field, and attended Marmion Academy.

Bears WR Allen Robinson II is a native of Southfield, Mich., and attended Orchard Lake St. Mary's High School. He caught 44 passes for 720 yards and 10 touchdowns while helping lead his team to an appearance in the Michigan Division 3 State Championship game at Ford Field in 2010.

Bears TE Dion Sims grew up in Detroit, Mich., and also attended St. Mary's High School. He earned All-American honors and was ranked as the fifth-best tight end in the nation during his senior year in 2008. Sims later went on to attend Michigan State, where he appeared in 38 games (13 starts) in three seasons for the Spartans.

Lions WR Kenny Golladay is a native of Chicago, Ill., and attended St. Rita High School. He caught 44 passes for 640 yards and nine touchdowns in 2011 and was named to the first team Blue Division All-Catholic League his senior year.

Lions LB Jarrad Davis, Lions WR Brandon Powell, Lions CB Teez Tabor and Bears DE Johnathan Bullard were teammates at Florida from 2014-15. In 2015, they helped the Gators to a 10-4 mark and an appearance in the SEC Championship game against Alabama.

Lions LB Christian Jones and Bears NT Eddie Goldman played on the same defense at Florida State for two seasons from 2012-13. The duo combined for 178 total tackles (92 solo) over that span for the Seminoles

Lions WR TJ Jones, Lions RB Theo Riddick and Bears LB Aaron Lynch played together at Notre Dame during the 2011 season.

Lions CB Nevin Lawson and Bears LS Patrick Scales were teammates at Utah State during the 2010 season.

Lions TE Luke Willson and Bears CB Bryce Callahan were teammates at Rice from 2010-12.

Bears Offensive Coordinator Mark Helfrich and Lions RB LeGarrette Blount overlapped at Oregon, with Helfrich serving as the offensive coordinator and Blount playing running back for the Ducks in 2009. During Helfrich's time as the Head Coach at Oregon, he coached Lions OL Tyrell Crosby for four seasons from 2014-17

Lions Linebackers Coach Al Golden served as the head coach at Miami (Fla.) from 2011-15, while Bears SS Deon Bush played defensive back (2012-15) and P Pat O'Donnell (2013) punted for the Hurricanes. Bush ranked fifth on the team in tackles with 50 his senior year and second in pass break ups with six, while O'Donnell was awarded Special Teams MVP in 2013.

Lions DL Da'Shawn Hand, Lions DT A'Shawn Robinson and Bears FS Eddie Jackson played on the same defense at Alabama from 2014-15. The trio helped lead the Crimson Tide to a 14-1 overall record and a win over Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship game in 2015

Lions RB LeGarrette Blount, Lions S Tavon Wilson and Bears DT Akiem Hicks were teammates with the Patriots during the 2015 season.

Lions QB Matt Cassel and Bears WR Joshua Bellamy were teammates with the Chiefs during the 2012 season.

Lions K Matt Prater and Bears ILB Danny Trevathan were teammates with the Broncos for three seasons (2012-14). The pair helped the Broncos advance to an appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Seahawks.

Lions RB LeGarrette Blount and Bears TE Trey Burton played on the same offense with the Eagles in 2017, which ranked third in the NFL in scoring. They helped lead the Eagles to a win in Super Bowl LII. Burton threw one touchdown pass and Blount rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries.

Lions S Glover Quin and Bears DB Sherrick McManis played in the same secondary for two seasons with the Texans from 2010-11. The duo helped the Texans claim the 2011 AFC South Division title and advance to the AFC Divisional playoffs against the Ravens.

Lions TE Luke Willson, Lions DB DeShawn Shead and Bears OT Bradley Sowell were teammates with the Seahawks during the 2016 season and helped the club claim the NFC West division title.

Bears Assistant Offensive Line Coach Donovan Raiola is the younger brother of Dominic Raiola, who played center for the Detroit Lions for 14 seasons (2001-14) and currently ranks third on the Lions all-time games played list (219).
