Twentyman in the Huddle: Lions-Titans Week 8 preview

On this episode of the Twentyman in the Huddle podcast presented by Microsoft, Tim Twentyman previews the Detroit Lions' first interconference matchup of the year when the Tennessee Titans come to town. First, Tim welcomes 97.1 The Ticket's Will Burchfield to go over the three keys to game. The duo discusses Tennessee's top-ranked defense, Jared Goff's consistently strong play in recent weeks and how Detroit tackles playing without Jameson Williams, who is serving the first of a two-game suspension. Next, NFC Special Teams Player of the Week and Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates joins the show. Jake reflects on his unique journey to the Detroit Lions, which included pit stops as a brick salesman, the UFL's Michigan Panthers and the Houston Texans. He also shares why he switched from soccer to football, and how he navigated playing collegiately. Plus, Jake recounts his mindset during his game-winning kick against Minnesota, and the inspiration for his celebration dance. To close the show, Tennessee Titans Senior Writer and Editor Jim Wyatt calls in from Nashville to discuss the current state of the Titans' squad. Jim talks about the effects of DeAndre Hopkins being traded to Kansas City, who fans should expect to play at quarterback for Tennessee and why the team is off to a slow start. Jim also shares his Titans players to watch. Stay tuned for more postgame coverage of Lions-Titans following Sunday afternoon's game at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan!
