Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agents CB Dexter McDougle, CB Sterling Moore and OL Beau Nunn. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.
In addition, the club announced that they have placed LB Steve Longa on Reserve/Injured, released vested veteran DL Cornelius Washington and waived CB Antwuan Davis.
McDougle comes to the club after most recently appearing in eight games for the Philadelphia Eagles and one game for the New Orleans Saints in 2017. Prior to last season, he appeared in 20 games for the New York Jets over the course of two seasons (2015-16). Originally selected by the Jets in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Maryland, McDougle has played in 29 career games and recorded three tackles and one pass defense.
Moore comes to Detroit after spending the past two seasons (2016-17) with the New Orleans Saints where he played in six games in 2017. Currently in his eighth NFL season, Moore has recorded 185 total tackles (149 solo), six interceptions, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 75 career games (31 starts). He originally entered the NFL in 2011 with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Methodist. He has split his seven previous NFL seasons with the Patriots (2011-12), Dallas Cowboys (2012-14) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2015).
Nunn returns to the Lions after originally signing with Detroit as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Appalachian State in 2018.
