Allen Park, Mich.— The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agent QB Tom Savage. Contract terms were not disclosed.
Savage joins the Lions after spending the 2018 season with the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers. He began his career with the Houston Texans from 2014-17, where he appeared in 13 games (nine starts) during that span.
Entering his sixth NFL season, Savage's career totals include 181 completions, 315 pass attempts, 2,000 yards and five touchdowns. He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the fourth round (135th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh.
