Lions sign DL Alim McNeill to contract extension through 2028 season

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed DL Alim McNeill to a contract extension through the 2028 season. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.

McNeill entered the NFL as a third-round (72nd overall) draft selection out of North Carolina State in 2021. Through five games (five starts) this season, McNeill has totaled eight total tackles (five solo), three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks (19 yards) and one pass defense.

For his career, McNeill has started 41-of-52 games played for the Lions and amassed 120 total tackles (54 solo), 18 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks (78 yards), three pass defenses and one forced fumble.
