Lions' offseason workout program dates set

The Detroit Lions' offseason workout program dates are set as the NFL announced all dates for each of the 32 teams Thursday.

The Lions begin their 2025 program on Tuesday, April 22, culminating with the team's mandatory minicamp in June. Detroit's program dates (subject to change) are as follows:

  • First Day: April 22
  • OTAs: May 28-30, June 3-5
  • Mandatory Minicamp: June 10-12

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Detroit's nine-week program is completed in three phases.

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program and activities are limited to meetings, strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two is completed in the next three weeks of the program and includes on-field workouts with individual or group instruction and drills, as well as 'perfect play drills.' Plays and drills with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walk-through pace, are permitted. No Live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are allowed.

Phase Three consists of the final four weeks of the program, where teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity (OTAs) that can include 7-on-7, 9-on-9 and 11-on-11 drills. No live contact is permitted. In this phase, each team can host a mandatory minicamp — Detroit's will be from June 10-12.

Each team can hold a rookie football development program for a seven weeks, beginning on May 12. During this period, no activities may be held on weekends, aside from one post-Draft rookie minicamp, which may be conducted on either the first or second weekend following the draft. The dates of Detroit's post-draft rookie minicamp will be circulated at a later date.
