Lions coaching staff update

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today the following updates to the coaching staff:

HANK FRALEY – OFFENSIVE LINE COACH

Fraley was promoted to Offensive Line Coach after originally joining the Lions as an assistant offensive line coach in 2018. Prior to Detroit, he served as the offensive line coach at UCLA in 2017. He also spent three seasons (2014-16) with the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff as an assistant offensive line coach following stints at San Jose State (2013) and the University of San Diego (2012). Fraley played 11 seasons in the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams) after entering the League as an undrafted free agent out of Robert Morris in 2000.

BILLY YATES – ASSISTANT OFFENSIVE LINE COACH

Yates was promoted to Assistant Offensive Line Coach after spending the last two seasons on the Lions coaching staff as part of the William Clay Ford Minority Assistantship program. Prior to Detroit, Yates served as a strength and conditioning coach at Bowling Green (2016-17) and Texas Tech (2013-15). He played eight seasons in the NFL as an offensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins (2003), New England Patriots (2004-09) and Cleveland Browns (2009-11) after concluding his collegiate career at Texas A&M.
