DETROIT — The Detroit Lions have announced that the FieldTurf surface at Ford Field is being upgraded with a new FieldTurf Classic HD system. The new surface will replace the existing FieldTurf which was installed in 2013.
The installation is expected to be four weeks and will begin on May 1.

Classic HD uses slit-film yarn that strikes the perfect balance between durability and feel. FieldTurf uses a mix of high-end polymer and UV stabilizers to create individual fibers that can withstand the pounding of an elite football program.
