Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have acquired RB J.D. McKissic via waivers (from Seattle) and released TE Logan Thomas.
McKissic comes to Detroit after spending the previous three seasons (2016-18) with the Seattle Seahawks, where he appeared in 19 games (one start) and totaled 50 carries for 197 yards and one touchdown, as well as 36 receptions for 282 yards and two touchdowns. He entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Seahawks in 2016 out of Arkansas State.
In addition, the Lions signed the following players to the team's practice squad:
