Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have acquired LB Eli Harold via trade with the San Francisco 49ers for a future undisclosed draft pick.
In addition, the Lions also announced that they have waived DL JoJo Wicker.
Currently in his fourth NFL season, Harold comes to Detroit after spending the first three seasons (2015-17) of his career with San Francisco, where he appeared in 48 games (24 starts) during that span. He played in all 16 games in 2017 (10 starts) and totaled 34 total tackles (26 solo) and 2.0 sacks.
Originally drafted by the 49ers in the third round (79th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Virginia, Harold's career totals include 84 tackles (57 solo), 5.0 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
