The Detroit Lions are healthy and ready to kick off their regular season tonight on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets.
Only reserve tackle Andrew Donnal will miss tonight's game due to injury. He was added to the injury report Thursday with a knee injury, and the team ruled him out on Saturday's injury report.
The other six inactives tonight for the Lions are all healthy scratches. They are: Running back Ameer Abdullah, defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson, defensive end Romeo Okwara, wide receiver Brandon Powell, cornerback Dee Virgin and guard Joe Dahl.
Robinson is probably the biggest surprise of the bunch. The former second-round pick was a starter upfront for this defense last year, but he lost his starting spot in training camp to veteran Ricky Jean Francois and rookie fourth-round pick Da'Shawn Hand. The Lions seem to favor some of their more versatile pieces upfront in this matchup against the Jets' offense tonight.
The Lions signed veteran running back LeGarrette Blount in free agency and drafted running back Kerryon Johnson in the second round. With Theo Riddick's abilities in the passing game, it made Abdullah the fourth running back on the depth chart, and the odd man out on gameday with the team keeping fullback Nick Bellore active.
Abdullah returned a lot of kickoffs in the preseason, and was listed on the depth chart as Detroit's kick returner, so we'll see who handles those duties tonight.
Tyrell Crosby and Kenny Wiggins are the reserve offensive linemen with Dahl being inactive and Donnal out.
