The Detroit Lions will be without nine starters today as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a Week 15 NFC matchup at Ford Field.
The team placed wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. (ankle), linebacker Jarrad Davis (ankle/knee), defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand (ankle) and guard Joe Dahl (back/knee) on injured reserve this week, ending their 2019 seasons.
The team also ruled out defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson (shoulder), tackle Rick Wagner (knee) and quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) on Friday's injury report.
Running back Bo Scarbrough was questionable coming in after leaving last week's game in Minnesota with sore ribs. He was estimated to be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but was held out of practice Thursday and Friday. Add him to the list of starters not playing today for the Lions. He's inactive, which leaves the Lions with J.D. McKissic, Ty Johnson and Wes Hills, who the team signed to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday, as healthy running backs for today's game.
Linebacker Christian Jones (shoulder) is inactive after also being questionable coming in. Jones went through some pregame testing on the field against offensive tackle Matt Nelson, surrounded by seven or eight coaches, trainers and doctors. It was determined Jones wasn't fit to play today.
Defensive tackle John Atkins (illness) was also questionable coming in, but he's active.
Cornerback Jamal Agnew is also active for his first game since injuring an ankle late in the Dallas game Week 11 returning a kickoff. He's likely to resume his return duties today against the Bucs.
Joining Stafford, Robinson, Wagner, Scarbrough and Jones on Detroit's inactive list today are: Cornerback Michael Jackson and guard Beau Benzschawel.
