DETROIT - The Detroit Lions, first awarded marketing rights for Canada through the NFL's Global Markets Program this past spring, will host their first two Canadian fan events in Ontario. These events are open to the public.
"We are thrilled to be hosting fan events throughout Ontario this season," said Detroit Lions SVP, Marketing and Brand Emily Griffin. "The Lions have incredible fans in Canada, particularly in Windsor, and they've been an integral part of our fanbase since the team was established in Detroit. The opportunity to engage with them more deeply, especially during this historic 2024 season, is something we're very excited about."

First launched in 2022, the Global Markets Program awards NFL clubs international marketing rights to build brand awareness and fandom beyond the U.S., through fan engagement, events and commercial opportunities. NFL clubs can apply for rights to international markets by submitting proposals to the International Committee for review each year. Clubs are awarded rights for at least a five-year term through the program, and during this period can pursue activities in that international market that are consistent with what they can do in their home market.
